of a money- subscription, but I have been doubtful how for such assistance
would be receptable under the circumstances, and, putting aside the delicacy of the case, I have refrained from appealing to the Community of Bongthong on whom
pecunian calls charitable
for public and purposes are of frequent and remarkable occurrence.
I beg to repeat my regret
at the failure of contributions from this Colony, but trust that the Ports
